Narrative
I FILED AN IFR FLT PLAN; REQUESTED AND OBTAINED A COMPLETE WX BRIEFING FROM AFSS FOR A FLT FROM ZZZ1 TO ZZZ2. ROUTINE FLT. ZZZ2 ATIS WAS: WIND N AT 11; 400 FT BROKEN; ABOUT 1000 FT OVCST; 7 MI VISIBILITY; AS NEAR AS I RECALL. THE APCH IN USE WAS VOR RWY 35R. MY CURRENT IAP CHART GAVE AN MDA OF 460 FT MSL FOR S RWY 35R. AS I WAS DSNDING THROUGH 500 FT MSL; TWR CALLED A 'LOW ALT ALERT.' I ADDED PWR FOR A MISSED APCH AND TOLD THE TWR I WAS STILL ABOVE MY MDA; TO WHICH THE TWR REPLIED THE MDA WAS 600 FT MSL AS PUBLISHED IN A NOTAM ABOUT 2 YRS AGO. AS I WAS OVER THE S PERIMETER OF THE ARPT; THE RWY CAME CLRLY IN SIGHT; AND I COMPLETED THE LNDG; TURNING OFF AT TXWY L. LATER IN THE DAY; I PHONED AFSS FOR NOTAM INFO REGARDING THIS INST APCH. THE PERSON I TALKED WITH WAS INTERESTED AND HELPFUL; AND AFTER SEARCHING 5-6 MINS; RETURNED WITH SEVERAL FDC NOTAMS THAT HAD EXISTED SINCE 2003; PERTAINING TO REVISED MDA'S FOR SEVERAL APCHS AT ZZZ2 -- THIS BEING DUE TO A 'TEMPORARY CRANE' IN THE AREA. I GUESS I NEED TO REVIEW HOW TO GET THE FDC NOTAMS.
