Narrative
THE FIRST FLT OF THE DAY WE ARRIVED AT THE ACFT AND THE GPU WAS HOOKED UP BUT EVEN WITH THE GPU SWITCH ON; WE COULD NOT GET GND PWR. THE RELAY WAS NOT CLOSING. THE BATTERIES STARTED TO FADE QUICKLY; AND I HAD TO GO TELL THE GND CREW (WHO WERE BUSY WITH THEIR DUTIES AS THEY SHOULD BE) THAT WE NEEDED TO START AN ENG. THE APU WAS ALSO INOP'ED/MEL'ED. WE STARTED THE R ENG AND GOT PWR FROM IT. AFTER THE ENG WAS STARTED; THE ACFT ACCEPTED GND PWR. THE ACFT WAS BOARDED AND THE DOOR CLOSED FOR AN ON-TIME DEP. AS HAPPENS WITH THE EMJ; SOMETHING DIDN'T BOOT UP RIGHT AND WE GOT AN AUTOPLT AND YAW DAMPER FAILURE MESSAGE THAT DID NOT GO AWAY. IN ORDER TO REBOOT OR RESET THE SYS; WE SHUT DOWN THE ENG AND ALL PWR TO THE ACFT. WHEN WE PWRED UP AGAIN; THE MESSAGES WENT AWAY. THIS INTERRUPTED ALL FLOWS AND WE HAD TO DO SOME OF THE FIRST FLT ITEMS AGAIN; IF NOT ALL; I DON'T REMEMBER. I TELL YOU ALL THIS BECAUSE THESE THINGS MAY HAVE BEEN ON MY MIND AND MAY HAVE DISTR ME. I CANNOT BE CERTAIN. ON TAXI OUT TO RWY; WE MAY HAVE PASSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE. DETECTION: STOPPED SHORT OF THE RWY AND DID NOT SEE A HOLD SHORT LINE. BECAUSE MOST OF THE TIME THERE IS A HOLD SHORT LINE; I AM LED TO BELIEVE I MAY HAVE JUST NOT SEEN IT. BEING DARK AND GLANCING BACK AND FORTH AT MY CHART TRYING TO MAKE SURE I WAS GOING IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO ME MISSING THE LINE; BUT I NEVER SAW THE HOLD SHORT LINE. ATC SAID NOTHING TO US. THERE IS A LARGE AREA IN FRONT OF RWY 5 AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR ACFT TO LAND WITHOUT ANY CONFLICT.
