Synopsis

A DEP RADAR CTLR CLBED AN ACR B737 THROUGH THE ALT OF A B717 RESULTING IN A LOSS OF SEPARATION. THE B737 RESPONDED TO A TCAS RA FOR TFC AT 9000 FT AND WAS ISSUED A DSCNT BACK TO 8000 FT.

Narrative

I WAS WORKING THE DEP W DRW POS. THE SESSION WAS VERY BUSY AND COMPLEX. NUMEROUS COORD TAKING PLACE. SEVERAL UNUSUAL SITUATIONS THAT ADDED TO THE COMPLEXITY. AT ONE POINT THE SUPVR CAME OVER AND ASKED ME ABOUT MY COMFORT LEVEL. HE TOLD ME AT SOME POINT THAT HE HAD SHUT OFF DEPS 2-3 TIMES. I WAS WORKING MY STANDARD DEP DTA'S AS WELL AS THE WORM DTA TFC THAT WAS BEING SEQUENCED WITH MY MICKI DTA TFC. I WAS WORKING THE WORM DTA BECAUSE OF V3 TFC. CTR HAD PLACED A 20 MI IN TRAIL RESTR THEN TOOK THIS AWAY; THEN A 10 MI IN TRAIL RESTR ON ALL DEPS GOING OUT THE WORMS DTA. AT ONE POINT MY SUPVR WAS WORKING THE CID POS AND COORD SOMETHING WITH ME THAT REQUIRED ME TO TURN OFF THE QUICK LOOK FEATURE FOR ARR SO I COULD SEE THE TFC HE WAS COORDINATING. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE QUICK LOOK FEATURE BACK ON AND KEPT WORKING. ON THE LAST TIME THE CID LET THE DEPS START UP; I IDENTED ACR X AND CLBED HIM TO 16000 FT. THIS IS ALLOWED WHEN WE USE THE PACA PROC. (QUICK LOOK AND CLB.) I LOOKED AND SAW NO ARR DATA TAGS AND BECAUSE OF 2 KING AIRS AND OTHER TFC; I NEEDED TO GET ACR X UP AND OVER THE OTHER TFC. ACR X RPTED RESPONDING TO AN RA. I IMMEDIATELY DSNDED HIM TO 8000 FT AND ISSUED THE TFC AT 9000 FT OFF HIS L. I THEN TOLD ACR X TO MAINTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION WITH HIS TFC. SEPARATION WAS LOST WITH ACR Y. AFTER THE INCIDENT I SAW THAT THE QUICK LOOK FEATURE WAS NOT ACTIVATED ON MY SCOPE ALTHOUGH I THOUGHT IT WAS. I HAVE NO EXPLANATION FOR THIS; I REMEMBER HITTING THE KEYS AND HITTING ENTER. I CAN'T RECALL WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THIS; AS I WAS BUSY. THE INCIDENT WAS RPTED TO THE SUPVRS AND I WAS RELIEVED FROM POS.
