Narrative
I AM FILING THIS RPT AS A RESULT OF AN OVERALL FATIGUING SCHEDULE. MY FEBRUARY SCHEDULE WAS SUCH THAT I WAS NEVER ABLE TO GAIN ANY RECOVERING REST TO THE EXTENT THAT IT AFFECTED MY HEALTH. I HAD RE-QUALIFICATION TRAINING AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH. TOTAL OF 4 DAYS OFF; ONE OF WHICH WAS SPENT IN DEADHEAD BECAUSE SIMULATION FINISHED TOO LATE TO GET HOME. AFTER PC PORTION WAS DEADHEAD NEXT DAY TO START IOE; THEN FOLLOWING 3 DAYS WERE IOE; FOR A TOTAL OF 7 STRAIGHT DAYS OF DUTY. NEXT; I WAS SCHEDULED FOR 3 DAYS OFF FOLLOWED BY 6 DAYS OF RESERVE; THEN 2 OFF; THEN 2 ON RESERVE. AFTER THAT; RIGHT INTO A 2 DAY TRIP IN THE NEXT MONTH. THIS SCHEDULE REPRESENTS A 32 DAY SPAN WITH 8 DAYS FREE FROM ALL DUTY. THIS IN NO WAY IS SAFE. AND AS I DISCOVERED; NEITHER IS IT HEALTHY. I ASKED A FLT MGR ABOUT THE LEGALITY OF MY SCHEDULE AND HE SAID IT WAS WITHIN THE CONTRACT. IT WAS NOT WITHIN REASON; HOWEVER. FORTUNATELY; THIS SCENARIO DID NOT RESULT IN SAFETY DEVS; BUT THAT MAY HAVE JUST BEEN A MATTER OF LUCK.
