BEECH BONANZA 33 PLT HAS A RWY INCURSION AND ALTDEV AT LGB.

Narrative

THIS WAS A XCOUNTRY IFR TRAINING FLT. I ARRIVED LGB FROM MYF VIA THE RWY 30 ILS APCH. AFTER LNDG; I WAS INSTRUCTED TO EXIT L OFF RWY 30 ONTO TXWY J. AFTER CLRING THE RWY; I STOPPED JUST BEFORE THE TXWY J/TXWY D INTXN AND CALLED GND CTL; TELLING THEM I WANTED TO TAXI BACK FOR IFR FLT TO CMA. GND CTL MOVED ME THROUGH THE TXWY J/TXWY D INTXN ONTO TXWY D HEADED SE TO HOLD AND I CONTACTED CLRNC DELIVERY TO FILE TEC TO CMA. AFTER RECEIVING MY IFR CLRNC; I CONTACTED TWR INDICATING I WAS READY FOR IFR RELEASE TO CMA. IN A SHORT TIME TWR CLRED ME FOR TKOF; RWY 25L; INTXN D. I WROTE THIS DOWN AND READ IT BACK TO THE TWR. MOVING SE ON TXWY D; I WAS ASKED ABOUT 'DELTA.' I WAS CONFUSED ABOUT WHETHER IT WAS INQUIRY OF MY POS; ON DELTA; OR ATIS INFO. I FINALLY SAID THAT I WAS 'ON DELTA; WITH ATIS INFO.' DURING THIS EXCHANGE I WAS MOVING AND I MISSED THE RWYS 25L/7R SIGN AS I MOVED ONTO RWY 25L. I'M ON RWY 25L BUT I SUDDENLY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO TELL ME WHERE I AM. RWY 25L IS 150 FT WIDE AND AT THE INTXN I SAW NOTHING BUT CONCRETE IN ALL DIRECTIONS. I'M ON THE RWY AND I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO. TWR URGENTLY TRIED TO GET ME TO TURN TO 250 DEGS BECAUSE THERE WAS AN ACFT ON FINAL. INSTEAD OF TURNING R; I TURNED L AND HAD TO GO 270 DEGS INSTEAD OF 90 DEGS. I WAS HESITANT IN GETTING AROUND AND THE TWR WAS INSISTENT THAT I GET TO 250 DEGS IMMEDIATELY AND TAKE OFF. THE TWR FINALLY TELLS ME TO STOP MOVING. I WAS LOST IN THE MIDDLE OF RWY 25L. THE ACFT ON FINAL WAS INSTRUCTED TO GO AROUND AS I FINALLY GOT TURNED CORRECTLY AND STARTED DOWN THE RWY. I WAS SO UPSET I BUSTED MY 800 FT ALT LIMIT TO 900 FT AND WAS ADMONISHED AGAIN BY TWR. EVEN THOUGH I RECEIVED; WROTE DOWN; AND WAS CLRED FOR AN INTXN TKOF; I DID NOT VISUALIZE IT BECAUSE I WAS VISUALIZING A FULL RWY TKOF THAT THE INSTRUCTOR AND I HAD DISCUSSED TWICE PRIOR TO THE FLT; SO SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF IT; I WAS NOT READY AND I GOT LOST. FURTHER; WHILE TRYING TO CORRECT ON THE RWY; MY INSTRUCTOR WAS TELLING ME TO GO ONE DIRECTION AND THE TWR WAS TELLING ANOTHER (THE CORRECT WAY). I WAS PIC; I SHOULD HAVE JUST LISTENED TO THE TWR. AFTER TKOF; THE TWR SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT RECEIVING MY XPONDER. AS I WAS CHKING THIS OUT AND FINDING NOTHING WRONG; I WENT THROUGH 800 FT TO 900 FT; WHICH THE TWR COULD SEE AND PROMPTLY TOLD ME. BESIDES BEING UPSET ABOUT THE TKOF; I WAS DISTR BY THE XPONDER.
