EXPERIENCED WHAT APPEARED TO BE WAKE TURB; L WING DROP; ACFT AUTOPLT ENGAGED; THROTTLES IDLE; DSNDING. ACFT CONTINUED TO HAVE L WING DROP TO EXTENT AUTOPLT WAS NOT CORRECTING. TURNED OFF AUTOPLT; ADDED PWR; RETRIMMED. ON NEXT LEG; SAME ACFT; SAME FLT; COPLT REMARKED HE HAD L WING DROP ON APCH. OBSERVED L WING (TOP OF WING; MIDWAY OUT FROM FUSELAGE) HAD WING SKIN LIFTED 2 1/2 INCHES ALONG WING SKIN PANEL; 18 INCHES IN LENGTH. CREW RPTED TO MAINT THAT WING SKIN NOT SECURE; FASTENERS VISIBLE INFLT; SEEN ON L WING. CREW ASSUMED ACCESS PANEL BUT EXAMINATION POSTFLT SHOWED 8 FT WING SKIN PANEL FROM ENG OUT. ITEM RPTED TO NEXT CREW AND ENGINEERING. MAINT LOG ENTRY NOTED DETAILS OF PANEL LIFTOFF OF WING. INFO TO MAINT NO ABNORMAL FLT CHARACTERISTICS NOTED ON THIS FLT. INFO NOTED NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE LIFTING OF THE WING SKIN WAS OBSERVED NOTING THE WING DROPPING CTL PROB. ON TRIP TERMINATION; THE ITEM WAS WRITTEN UP FOR MAINT AND MAINT OPS WAS ADVISED OF THE RPT. THE OUTBOUND CREW WAS ADVISED OF THE SITUATION AND ELECTED TO FLY THE SCHEDULED REVENUE FLT WITH THE OPEN LOGBOOK ITEM NOT ANSWERED OR NOTED THAT ANY MAINT WAS PERFORMED. THERE IS NO RECORD OF THE INBOUND LOGBOOK ITEM IN THE ACFT MAINT HISTORY.
