SF340 DISPATCHER IS NOTIFIED THAT THE WT AND BAL FIGURES ARE INCORRECT FOR A DEPARTED ACFT; NOTIFIES THE FLT CREW OF THE DISCREPANCY.
Narrative
THIS VIOLATION INVOLVED MY EARLY MORNING FLT FROM THIEF RIVER FALLS TO BEMIDJI. THE ACFT WAS ALOFT; AND AS I RECALL IT; APPROX 1/2 WAY TO ITS DEST WHEN ONE OF OUR LOAD PLANNERS -- AN ASSISTANT DISPATCHER -- CAME TO MY WORK STATION AND INFORMED ME THAT THE FLT CREW WAS IN POSSESSION OF FINAL NUMBERS THAT WEREN'T; IN FACT; 'FINAL.' THIS SITUATION IS A PROCEDURAL IMPOSSIBILITY -- AND YET IT'S A TYPE OF OCCURRENCE THAT CONTINUES TO PLAGUE OUR OP DESPITE DEMONSTRABLE EFFORTS BY THE COMPANY TO ELIMINATE LOADING AND LOAD RPTING ERRORS. WHILE THE WTS INVOLVES WERE ALL WELL BELOW THE MAX GROSS LIMIT FOR THE SF340; THE DISCREPANCY WAS 300 LBS. THE DIFFERENCE BTWN THE ERRONEOUS PERCENT MAC AND THE ACTUAL PERCENT MAC WAS ALSO NOT A BIG DEAL -- BUT MIGHT HAVE BEEN IF THE PLANE HAD BEEN LOADED AT ITS REAR CTR OF GRAVITY LIMIT. I WAS ABLE TO RAISE THE CREW OVER THE RADIO; AND PROVIDE THEM WITH THE CORRECT WT AND BAL FIGURES; INCLUDING THE UPDATED PERCENT MAC SHORTLY BEFORE THEY LANDED. IN ADDITION; THE LOAD CTLR MADE A LOAD DISCREPANCY RPT; PER COMPANY PRACTICE AS PRESCRIBED IN THESE SITUATIONS.
