Narrative
THE DEP PROC FOR RWY 25L WS APPLIED TO RWY 24L FROM THE LAXX5.LAX DEP. IT WAS PURE LUCK THAT THERE WAS NOT A DEP IN PROGRESS FROM THE S COMPLEX AT THE TIME. ATC ADVISED 'NO HARM; NO FOUL.' THE PROCESS BEGAN WITH THE SET UP OF THE DEP. THE LAXX.5 IS NOT IN THE DATABASE. SO I BUILT IT WITH A RADIO BACKUP. DURING THIS PERIOD; THE STATION BEGAN BOARDING THE FLT. IT WAS NOT CLR IF THE ACFT SECURITY CHK WAS COMPLIED WITH. THE BOARDING WAS STOPPED UNTIL THE PAPERWORK ARRIVED. ADD THE LAXX5.LAX DEP TO THE DATABASE. ALL REGULARLY FLOWN STARS AND SIDS SHOULD BE IN THE DATABASE REGARDLESS OF THE SEEMING SIMPLICITY SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 695818: WE TOOK OFF ON RWY 24L; AND AS WE WERE CLBING ON HDG 250 DEGS; THE PLT MONITORING SAID WE'RE XING SANTA MONICA 160 DEG RADIAL; AND WHEN I DIDN'T RESPOND CALLED FOR A L TURN TO 220 DEGS. I DIDN'T REALIZE THAT HE WAS THINKING OF THE RWY 25 DEP. I THOUGHT I HAD MISSED AN ATC CALL THAT THE PLT MONITORING HAD HEARD; SO BEGAN THE TURN AS DIRECTED. I SHOULD HAVE QUERIED THE PLT MONITORING WHEN HE TOLD ME TO TURN; BUT SINCE I'M ON IOE AND NEW TO THE SEAT; I ASSUMED THAT I HAD MISSED AN ASSIGNED HDG.
