REPEATED FLT REASSIGNMENTS RESULT IN EXCESSIVE FATIGUE FOR A319 FO.

Narrative

JUN/XX/06 AT XA45 I CALLED IN FATIGUED. THE TRIP WAS ORIGINALLY A 3 DAY TRIP AND GREW FROM THAT POINT. ON MONDAY; I GOT THE ACARS MESSAGE FROM CREW SCHEDULING INFORMING ME OF ANOTHER REASSIGNMENT FOR LATER THAT EVENING. BECAUSE WE WERE BUSY AT THE TIME; I DID NOT RESPOND. INFLT; I AGAIN RECEIVED AN ACARS MESSAGE INFORMING ME OF THE REASSIGNMENT. I DID RESPOND AND ACKNOWLEDGED THE REASSIGNMENT AT THE TIME. LATER THAT DAY; ON THE DEADHEAD SEGMENT; I AGAIN RECEIVED AN ACARS MESSAGE; DELIVERED BY WAY OF THE COCKPIT AND FLT ATTENDANTS ON THAT FLT; INFORMING ME TO CALL THE CREW DESK UPON ARR. I WAS FEELING QUITE TIRED ON THE DEADHEAD FLT AND BEGAN TO QUESTION MY FITNESS TO SIT FOR 3 HRS AND THEN FLY. BY THE TIME THE FLT ENDED; I WAS SURE THAT I WAS NOT PROPERLY RESTED TO FLY LATER THAT EVENING. THIS WAS DUE TO THE EARLY TIMES AT WHICH I HAD TO ARISE AND EITHER SHOW OR CATCH THE TRANSPORTATION TO THE ARPT. COUPLED WITH LONG DAYS AND THE FACT THAT I DON'T SLEEP NEARLY AS WELL ON THE ROAD AS I DO AT HOME. THUS; UPON ARR; I CALLED THE CREW DESK AND INFORMED THEM THAT I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FLY ANY MORE ON THAT DATE AND WOULD BE RESTED ENOUGH BY XX30 ON JUN/YY/06 TO ACCEPT ANY OTHER ASSIGNMENT.
