PA-28 PLT HAS ENG FAILURE ON FINAL APCH TO AUN.

Narrative

I WAS FLYING 3 FRIENDS AROUND THE AUBURN AREA WITH THE INTENTIONS OF MAKING IT A QUICK SCENIC FLT. THE ACFT WAS A PIPER WARRIOR PA28-151. I TAXIED TO THE RUN-UP AREA; PERFORMED A COMPLETE RUN-UP CHKING MAGNETOS; CARB HEAT; ENG INSTS; EVERYTHING ON THE POH RUN-UP CHKLIST. WITH NO IRREGULAR INDICATIONS I TOOK OFF ON RWY 25 AT AUN. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS OF FLYING WE RETURNED TO THE ARPT AND I BEGAN MY APCH. AS I BEGAN MY APCH I TURNED DOWNWIND; BASE; AND FINAL FOLLOWING ALL CHKLIST PER THE POH WITH NO INDICATION OF A PROB. ONCE ON FINAL I ESTABLISHED A STABLE DSCNT AND COMPLETED THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST. ABOUT 1/2 MI OUT AND 200-300 FT AGL THE ENG FAILED. BEING CLOSE TO THE GND I DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO GO THROUGH THE ENG FAILURE PROC. I FELT IT MORE IMPORTANT AS THE PIC TO CONTINUE MY STABLE APCH AND WE LANDED ON THE RWY WITHOUT INCIDENT. AS THE ACFT SLOWED I WAS STILL ROLLING OUT ON THE RWY AND THE PROP WAS NOT TURNING. I GOT MYSELF AND MY PAX OUT AND PULLED IT OFF THE ACTIVE RWY. I WANT TO EMPHASIZE A FEW MAJOR POINTS: 1) I HAD PWR ON AT THE TIME THE ENG QUIT; THE MIXTURE WAS AT FULL RICH; AFTER LNDG BOTH FUEL TANKS WERE INSPECTED BY MYSELF AND FOUND THAT BOTH WERE OVER 75% FULL; AND UPON LNDG AND STOPPING I REVIEWED ALL SWITCHES; DIALS; LEVERS; AND EVERYTHING WAS IN THE PROPER POS TO EXECUTE A NORMAL LNDG.
