Narrative
PUSHED FROM THE GATE 1 HR AND 34 MINS LATE DUE TO AIR CONDITIONING MAINT DELAY. I WAS ANXIOUS TO GET THE FLT UNDER WAY AND TO HELP MAKE UP FOR LOST TIME. A BLEEDS OFF TKOF PROC WAS REQUIRED BUT IN MY HURRY TO GET THE FLT BACK ON SCHEDULE; I FAILED TO CONFIGURE THE PRESSURIZATION PANEL FOR A BLEEDS OFF TKOF. TO COMPOUND MATTERS; THE CAPT SHUT THE APU DOWN ON TAXI OUT. I NOTICED THESE ERRORS AS WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF SO WE ELECTED TO COMPLETE A BLEEDS OFF TKOF WITHOUT THE APU. WE RECEIVED AN 'AUTO FAIL' LIGHT AFTER LIFTOFF SO WE COMPLETED THE AUTO FAIL QRH AND CONTINUED THE FLT WITH NO PROBS. UPON LNDG; MAINT CHKED THE SYS; SIGNED OFF THE LOGBOOK WITH NO COMPLICATIONS; AND THE ACFT REMAINED IN SVC. I ALLOWED MYSELF TO BECOME RUSHED; AND EVEN THOUGH I'VE SAID IT TO MYSELF BEFORE; I PLAN TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING IN THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. GOOD INTENTIONS AND HURRYING CAUSE MORE PROBS THAN THEY SOLVE. EVENTUALLY I'LL PROBABLY LEARN THIS SIMPLE FACT. COMPANY CREWS ARE BY NATURE WIRED TO GET THE JOB DONE AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE; IF NOT SOONER. I PLAN TO KICK MYSELF IN THE HINDQUARTERS EVERY TIME I GET AN URGE TO PUSH THINGS IN THE INTEREST OF SPD.
