Narrative

TANK #1 FUEL QUANTITY INDICATOR DEFERRED. DURING CRUISE; TANK #1 FUEL QUANTITY LOW ALERT. FOLLOWED QRH. ACARS TO MAINT CTL FOR CLARIFICATION. SHORTLY AFTER TANK #1 FORWARD PUMP LOW ALERT; IMMEDIATE DIVERT TO 75 NM TO THE E OF ACFT POS. ASKED JUMPSEATING MD11 CREW MEMBER TO ENTER COCKPIT FOR ASSISTANCE DURING BUSY ARR. EMER DECLARED. JUMPSEATER PULLED CIRCUIT BREAKER ACCORDING TO FIRST STEP OF QRH. ESTABLISHED ON FINAL ENG #1 RPM LOW ALERT; TERMINATED CHKLIST CONFIRMED 'ENG OUT' ON FMS PAGE; TRIMMED ACFT; LANDED. ASKED FIRE CREW TO INSPECT ACFT. THEY RPTED NO LEAKS OR SMOKE. AFTER BLOCK-IN; MECH STATED #1 TANK STICK DRY. MAINT INSPECTION REVEALED NO LEAK OR ABNORMALITIES. REFUELED. SAME CREW FLEW ACFT. UPON BLOCK-IN; CAPT ASKED MAINT TO STICK #1 TANK WHICH WAS WITHIN 500 LBS OF TANKS #1 AND #3. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES ACFT WAS APPARENTLY FUELED INCORRECTLY AT THEIR DEP POINT. BEFORE THEY GOT TO THE POINT IN THE QRH THAT POSITIONED XFEEDS TO SUPPLY FUEL TO ALL ENGS; THE #1 ENG FLAMED OUT. SINCE THEY WERE ESTABLISHED ON FINAL; THEY ELECTED TO LAND WITH AN ENG OUT RATHER THAN CONTINUE THE PROC.
