Narrative

FLT FLOWN TO ZZZZ FOR EXTREMELY LONG DUTY DAY; AFTER BEING ORDERED TO FLY UNDER PROTEST. FLT LANDED IN OUTER LIMITS OF LNDG ZONE; FORTUNATELY ON LONG RWY. ACFT WAS STOPPED WITHIN CONFINES OF RWY. BY THE END OF THE DUTY PERIOD THE CREW WAS EXTREMELY TIRED AND ERROR PRONE. THE ORDER TO FLY; QUOTED FROM THE PLT TRIP DISPLAY (REFLECTING 15 HR DUTY DAY WITH UNAUGMENTED CREW FLYING IN EXCESS OF 8 HRS) NOTED DOES NOT ACCURATELY REFLECT MY RECOLLECTION OF THE CONVERSATION. WHEN I STARTED DISCUSSING THE DUTY TIME VERSUS REST WITH CAPT XXX; I WAS PREVENTED FROM EXPLAINING MY SAFETY CONCERNS AND TOLD WE NEEDED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH RESPECT TO CONTRACT LANGUAGE. 'AFTER CONSULT WITH CREW DESK AND THE PLT CONTRACT; I FIND YOUR TRIP ASSIGN LEGAL. AS PER OUR 'CONVERSE;' SAFETY IS NOT AN ISSUE IN THE ASSIGNMENT. THEREFORE; I DIRECT YOU TO FLY THE ASSIGNMENT. THIS DIRECTIVE DOES NOT JEOPARDIZE YOUR GRIEVANCE RIGHTS. PER DUTY MGR.' PRIOR TO DEPARTING; BOTH FO AND MYSELF HAD SAFETY CONCERNS DUE TO THE LONG DUTY DAY; HOWEVER; EVEN THOUGH I ASKED DUTY MGR TO PROVIDE A COPY OF THE ORDER PRIOR TO DEP; HE STATED HE WAS UNABLE TO DO SO (I SUGGESTED FAX OR IF PLACED IN THE PLT TRIP DISPLAY; SO THAT I COULD SEE IT IN OPS PRIOR TO DEP).
