A BE30 PLT RPTS ZLC KEEPS HIM TOO HIGH ON APCH TO BZN TO ALLOW A STABILIZED APCH.
Narrative
FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS; WHEN I HAVE BEEN CLEARED FOR THE ILS 12 AT BZN; SALT LAKE ATC HAS BEEN HOLDING ME VERY HIGH; MUCH HIGHER THAN THE MDA ON THE RESPECTIVE TRANSITIONS; AND ONLY 'CLEARING' ME FOR THE APPROACH (I.E. ALLOWING ME TO DESCEND TO THE MDA) AFTER TURNING INBOUND ON THE LOCALIZER. PROBLEM IS; THEY HAVE KEPT ME AT 12000 FT MSL UNTIL THAT POINT; AND THE MDA AT THAT PART OF THE APPROACH IS 6800 FT. SALT LAKE DID THIS TO ME ONCE WHILE FLYING THE 14 MILE DME ARC FROM THE NORTH; AND YESTERDAY WHILE ON THE HIA TRANSITION. IT IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A STABILIZED APPROACH UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES. I UNDERSTAND THAT ZLC LOSES RADAR COVERAGE BELOW 12000 FT HERE; BUT AS LONG AS I AM ESTABLISHED ON A TRANSITION; WHY ARE THEY HOLDING ME HIGH? THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME; AS I AM FINDING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO INTERCEPT THE GLIDESLOPE PRIOR TO MANNI; THE FAF.CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THE PERFORMANCE LIMITATIONS OF HIS ACFT MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO EXECUTE A SAFE; STABILIZED APCH WITH SALT LAKE CTR KEEPING HIM THAT HIGH ON THE APCH. WHEN HE REQUESTS LOWER ALT EARLIER IN THE PROC; CTR DENIES THE REQUEST.
