MD80 FLT CREW HAS A NON COMPLIANCE WITH AN MEL.
Narrative
WENT THROUGH PRE-START CHKS WITH CAPT ON ACFT AND SENT FUEL LOAD VIA ACARS CHKING FUEL GAUGE AGAINST FLT PLAN. THE FUEL GAUGES -- L; R; AND CTR -- WERE WORKING PERFECTLY; AND THIS CAUSED ME TO COMPLETELY FORGET THE OUTSTANDING WRITE-UPS NOTED PREVIOUSLY; WHICH REQUIRED THE R TANK TO BE EMPTIED; REFILLED; AND STICK CHKED. THIS WAS NEVER PERFORMED; AND WE PROCEEDED TO ZZZ UNEVENTFULLY. THE GAUGES WORKED PERFECTLY THE ENTIRE FLT; AND THE FUEL LOGS RECORDED UNEVENTFULLY. WHILE TAXIING INTO ZZZ JUST PRIOR TO GATE ARR; THE R FUEL GAUGE AND TOTALIZER WENT BLANK; AND I WENT 'OH NO;' KNOWING FULL WELL I HAD FORGOTTEN TO MAKE SURE THE MEL REQUIREMENTS WERE MET BACK IN MEM. THE CAPT AND I DID EVERYTHING WE COULD TO MAKE A NEARLY UNMANAGEABLE MEM OP GET OUR PAX TO DFW ON TIME (WHICH WE DID ACCOMPLISH; DESPITE EVERYTHING -- ARRIVING 2 MINS EARLY AT DFW); BUT WE BOTH WERE DISTRAUGHT TO DISCOVER WE HAD FAILED TO COMPLY WITH THE MEL REQUIREMENT. OUR INABILITY TO COMPLY WITH THIS CRUCIAL REQUIREMENT RESULTED DIRECTLY FROM MEM OP'S FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH OUR DIRECTIVE THE NIGHT PRIOR; AND I BELIEVE I TRIED TO DO TOO MANY THINGS AT ONCE IN ORDER TO MAKE THE EVENT HAPPEN.
