MOONEY M20T PLT HAS A TRACK-HDG AND ALTDEV DURING APCH TO MMU.
Narrative
1) EXPECTED ILS RWY 23 APCH AS A RESULT OF MONITORING THE WX ALONG RTE JYO-MMU. 2) NY APCH CTL ADVISED CLRNC TO IF HOKIR FOR GPS RWY 5. 3) I SELECTED THE FIRST COMMERCIAL APCH PLATE AVAILABLE FOR GPS RWY 5 WHICH WAS NDB GPS RWY 5 AND LOOKED FOR IF HOKIR. 4) IF HOKIR IS NOT DEPICTED ON THE NDB GPS RWY 5 SO I ASKED THE CTLR FOR THE SPELLING OF HOKIR. 5) IN THE PROCESS OF INPUTTING HOKIR INTO THE ACFT'S GPS FOR THE APCH AND ATTEMPTING TO RESOLVE THE SIT I HAD A TEMPORARY LOSS OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. 6) MMU TWR THEN ADVISED A HDG OF 220 DEGS AND TURNED ME OVER TO NY APCH CTL FOR VECTORS BACK TO IF HOKIR. 7) THE EVENTS INCLUDED DSCNT BELOW DEPICTED ALT AND TEMPORARY LOSS OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. 8) SUBSEQUENT VECTORS AND APCH RESULTED IN A SAFE LNDG AT MMU. THE ISSUES CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBS ENCOUNTERED INCLUDE THE INCONSISTENCY OF THE NDB (GPS) RWY 5 AND THE RNAV (GPS) RWY 5 APCH PLATES; IE; HOKIR IS DEPICTED ON THE RNAV (GPS) RWY 5 APCH PLATE AND NOT ON THE NDB (GPS) RWY 5 APCH PLATE. AS WELL THE WORKLOAD COULD HAVE BEEN REDUCED WITH GREATER FAMILIARITY WITH THE GPS EQUIP CAPABILITIES. RESOLUTION OF THE APCH PLATE INCONSISTENCY; IE; DEPICTION OF IF HOKIR ON BOTH APCH PLATES AND BETTER KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING FOR THE GPS EQUIP CAPABILITIES.
