Synopsis

AN EMB140 INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE #2 ENG LOWER COWLING AND OIL SVC DOOR.

Narrative

ON JAN/SAT/07; I WAS SENT ON A ROAD TRIP FOR AN OIL SVC TASK ON ACFT. UPON ARRIVING AT THE SAID STATION AROUND XA45; I PROCEEDED TO CHK IN WITH THE STATION MGR WHO INFORMED ME OF THE SITUATION AND; AFTER VERIFYING WITH THE FLT CREW AND THE MAINT DISCREPANCY WRITTEN IN THE AML; I PROCEEDED TO PERFORM THE OIL SVCING TASK FOR BOTH #1 AND #2 ENGS ACCORDING TO THE ACFT MAINT PROCS. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE MAINT TASK; I VERIFIED BOTH OIL SVCING CAPS AND ACCESS DOORS CLOSED; BEFORE SIGNING THE ACFT AML (ACFT MAINT LOG). AFTER SIGNING I CHKED BACK WITH THE FLT CREW AND WE PROCEEDED TO HEAD BACK ON THE ASSIGNED FLT FOR THAT ACFT. UPON ARRIVING AT AROUND XC00 THE #2 ENG OIL ACCESS DOOR WAS NOTICED DAMAGED WITH 3 OF THE 5 LATCHES SECURING THE DOOR CLOSED UNDONE. THE PLANE WAS LATER TAKEN TO THE STATION HANGAR FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE #2 ENG BOTTOM COWL. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE; ALL MAINT PROCS WERE FOLLOWED AND ACCOMPLISHED ACCORDINGLY AND SATISFACTORILY IN ACCORDANCE TO ACFT MAINT MANUAL PROCS FOR ENG OIL SVCING.
