A319 CREW ON CLIMB OUT RECEIVES NUMEROUS ECAM WARNINGS CONCERNING #2 ENG INTERFACE UNIT.
Narrative
ON DEP CLBING THROUGH 7000 FT; WE RECEIVED SEVERAL ECAM MESSAGES IN A ROW: #2 EIU FAULT; #2 ENG REVERSER; #2 ENG START; #2 ENG FADEC PWR SUPPLY; AND PACK #1 FAULT. I ASSUMED PF DUTIES AND RADIOS AS THE FO STARTED WORKING THROUGH THE ECAM'S. FO NOTICED 'PRESS' PAGE SHOWED BOTH PACKS INOP; EVEN THOUGH WE HAD ONLY PACK #1 FAULT ON THE EWD. WHEN WE TURNED #1 PACK OFF; WE GOT PACK #2 FAULT FOLLOWED BY IGNITION; ON ENG #2 APCH IDLE ONLY; 'THRUST LK' AND AUTOTHRUST ON EWD. I LEVELED OFF AT 10000 FT AND COORDINATED HOLDING WITH APCH CTL. FO SUCCESSFULLY RESET BOTH PACKS. AFTER CLRING OUR THE ECAM'S; WE WERE LEFT WITH #2 EIU; #2 REVERSER; #2 APCH IDLE ONLY; CAT III AND AUTOTHRUST ON THE STATUS PAGE. WE REFERRED TO THE FLT MANUAL TO RESEARCH EIU PROBS. THE FO CONTACTED DISPATCH AND PATCHED IN MAINT. MAINT SAID TO BRING HER BACK TO ORD. WE BRIEFED THE FLT ATTENDANTS AND PAX. WE DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER. THE LNDG WAS UNEVENTFUL. WE CHANGED PLANES AND CONTINUED ON. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATES THAT HE WAS NEVER INFORMED WHAT ACTUALLY CAUSED THE INDICATIONS REPORTED. WHILE THE AUTO THROTTLE REMAINED INOPERATIVE MANUAL THRUST FUNCTIONED NORMALLY.
