Narrative
ON DEP ACFT EXPERIENCED A FLAP FAILURE IN THE TKOF (FLAPS 10 DEGS) SETTING. WE PROCEEDED ON RWY HDG UNTIL REACHING A SAFE ALT (15000 FT MSL). ADVISED THE TWR/DEP CTL OF FLAP MALFUNCTION AND DECIDED TO RETURN TO MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG. CHKLIST PROCS FOR THE MALFUNCTION WERE COMPLIED WITH. THE PRECAUTIONARY LNDG WAS MADE ABOVE THE NORMAL LNDG WT LIMITATION. LNDG WAS SMOOTH AND NON-EVENTFUL. ONCE LANDED; OUR TAXI WAS NORMAL. WE DEPLANED AND WENT INTO THE FBO. UPON RETURNING TO ACFT WE NOTICED THAT THE L FUSE PLUG HAD BLOWN. OUR MAINT DIRECTOR WAS MADE AWARE OF THE SIT. MAINT PERSONNEL WERE MADE AWARE OF THE SIT AND ARE GOING TO PERFORM AN OVERWT LNDG INSPECTION AS WELL AS ADDRESS THE FLAP MALFUNCTION AND THE BLOWN FUSE PLUG. MAINT HAS ADVISED ME THAT PER THE ACFT MAINT MANUAL; THE L AND R MAIN LNDG GEAR WHEEL ASSEMBLY AND TIRES MAY NEED TO BE REMOVED AND REPLACED. AT THIS POINT; THE ACFT IS TO BE INSPECTED AND A COURSE OF ACTION WILL BE DEVELOPED TO ISFY MAINT REQUIREMENTS. MAINT PERSONNEL WILL HANDLE THE INSPECTION AND REPLACEMENT PROCESS AT THIS POINT. CALLBACK CONVERION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: ALTHOUGH ACFT LANDED OVER STRUCTURAL WEIGHT LIMIT; ACFT PERFORMANCE CHARTS INDICATED THAT WEIGHT WAS WITHIN RWY AND PERFORMANCE LIMITS FOR CONDITIONS.
