A B777 PLT RPTS EXCEEDING 250 KTS ON THE GORMAN FOUR DEP PRIOR TO ATC'S NORMAL SPD CLRNC.
Narrative
FLT WAS TOLD TO 'RESUME NORMAL SPD' APCHING 15000 FT AND THE CLRNC WAS READ BACK; HOWEVER; WE HAD ALREADY BEEN RESUMING NORMAL SPD AFTER CLBING THROUGH 10000 FT; AND THE QUESTION CAME UP AS TO WHETHER WE HAD BEEN GIVEN A SPD RESTR TO BEGIN WITH; IF SO; WHEN WE WERE ACTUALLY CLRED TO RESUME NORMAL SPD; AND BY WHOM THE CLRNC HAD BEEN GIVEN. THE CTLR THEN MADE MENTION OF THE SPD RESTR ON THE SID AND AFTER REVIEWING THE PROC WE REALIZED THAT WE HAD NOT COMPLIED WITH THE NOTE UNDER THE TITLE OF THE SID. THIS WAS AN UNUSUAL SID FOR OUR FLT AS WE NORMALLY FLY THE LOOP OR THE LAX 5 DEPS. THE SID WAS REVIEWED PRIOR TO TKOF; HOWEVER; THE SPD RESTR WAS NOT BRIEFED NOR MENTIONED AS APPLICABLE TO OUR DEP. ATTN WAS DRAWN TO ALT RESTRS AND HDG DEP PROCS DURING THE DEP BRIEFING. UNFORTUNATELY THE PF DID NOT HAVE A COPY OF THE SID IN FRONT OF THEM DURING THE CLBOUT. LACK OF AWARENESS OF THE SPD RESTR MAY HAVE BEEN DUE TO THE SIMILAR SPD NOTES ON THE EGLL SIDS THAT ARE STANDARD DEP NOTES AND NOT OF SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR EACH DEP. THE NOTE MAY HAVE BEEN NOTICED; HOWEVER IGNORED AS NOT SIGNIFICANT LIKE THE EGLL NOTES. SEE EGLL DEP FOR CLARIFICATION OF THIS NOTE SIMILARITY.
