A CL60 CAPT RPTS THAT AFTER A RWY CHANGE FROM LAX RWY 25 TO RWY 24; INCOMPLETE TAXI PREP ALLOWED THE FLT TO TAXI TO THE S COMPLEX INCORRECTLY.

Narrative

HAVING TO DEAL WITH LAST MINUTE RWY CHANGE AND WX DEVS ON THE CIVET 5 ARR (THUNDERSTORMS AT CIVET INTXN); THE APCH CTLR CHANGED OUR RWY (25L TO 24R) AT THE LAST MINUTE. HAVING BEEN THERE A FEW TIMES; BUT NOT MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH THE NORTH COMPLEX; AND DEAL WITH A RELATIVELY NEW FO; AND DEALING WITH 2 ADDITIONAL ACFT THAT WERE VECTORED IN FRONT OF US (737 FOR RWY 25L AND A A340 8 MILES IN FRONT OF US FOR RWY 24R); I GOT FOCUSED ON MAKING SURE THAT WE WERE IN THE RIGHT POSITION FOR LNDG AND TRYING TO AVOID THE A340'S WAKE; THE FO (NEW TO THE PLANE WAS FLYING) AND HAS BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH HANDLING THE ACFT ON APCH. JUST TOO MANY THINGS GOING ON AT THE LAST FEW MINUTES OF APCH. AFTER WE HAD LANDED; AND WERE PASSED TO THE GND CTLR; I WAS NOT CHALLENGED BY ATC ON THE READBACK OF OUR TAXI CLRNC. I HAD PULLED OUT THE ARPT SURFACE CHART; BUT DURING THE LAST MINUTE CHANGE IN OUR RWY I HAD FORGOT TO PULL OUT THE TAXI ROUTE PAGE. WE EXITED ON TXWY AA HEADING TO THE S FOR THE FBO. THE TOWER TOLD US TO CROSS RWY 24L AND THEN CONTACT GND CTL. WHEN WE CONTACTED THE N GND CTLR; HE TOLD US TO 'HEAD S ON AA (REST UNKNOWN)' I REPLIED WITH 'STRAIGHT AHEAD ON AA'. I HEARD NOTHING ELSE. AFTER CROSSING CHECKPOINT 3; AND JUST BEFORE TXWY B; I REPLIED TO THE CTLR IF WE NEEDED TO CONTACT THE S GND CTLR; AND HE REPLIED THAT 'I SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED HIM AT CHECKPOINT 3 OR THE BRIDGE.' I CONTACTED THE S CTLR AND HE SAID THAT WE WERE CLRED VIA THE BRIDGE RTE; AND I TOLD HIM THAT I DIDN'T HEAR THIS CLRNC. THE CTLR REPLIED THAT HE WOULD PULL THE TAPES. ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES LATER; THE S CTLR CAME BACK AND SAID THAT WE WERE CLEARED VIA THE BRIDGE RTE. I APOLOGIZED TO HIM AND TOLD HIM THAT I REPLIED TO THE N CTLR WITH WHAT I HEARD; AND WAS NOT CHALLENGED ON MY RESPONSE. THE S CTLR DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ELSE; NOR DID HE ASK THAT I CALL HIM OR THE SUPVR. THE REST OF THE TAXI WENT UNEVENTFUL .FROM WHAT I COULD SEE AND HEAR THERE WERE NO OTHER ACFT THAT WE AFFECTED BY OUR DEV FROM THE CLRNC. WHEN WE HAD CONTACTED THE S CTLR; HE THOUGHT WE WERE AT THE BRIDGE (CHKPOINT 3) BUT ACTUALLY ALMOST TO TXWY B. NO ADDITIONAL ACTION WAS PROMPTED. THE NEXT TIME THAT I FLY TO LAX I WILL BE SURE THAT I WILL PULL OUT THE ARPT RTE CHART AND REVIEW BEFORE LNDG. ADDITIONALLY; AT THIS ARPT; I WILL MAKE SURE THAT I CHALLENGE ANY CLRNC THAT IS GIVEN; ESPECIALLY ON THE N COMPLEX. LASTLY; THE GND CTLRS NEED TO CHALLENGE PLTS' RESPONSES TO CLRNCS THAT ARE NOT EXACT TO THEIR INSTRUCTIONS.
