APCHING IAH FROM THE SW; GLAND 3 ARR. CAPT PF; MYSELF BRIEFED AN ILS RWY 27 AS THE STANDARD APCH WHEN ARRIVING ON THE GLAND 3 ARR FROM THE SW. CO-CAPT PNF; SAID NO; HE'D ASK FOR THE ILS RWY 26L; AND HE SET UP THE ILS RWY 26L AND REQUESTED IT UPON INITIAL CONTACT WITH HOUSTON APCH; BUSY CTLR DIDN'T ADVISE APCH UNTIL MUCH LATER AND SAID EXPECT THE ILS RWY 27. CO-CAPT REPROGRAMMED THE FMS; BUT PUT THE WRONG LOC FREQ IN THE NAV RADIOS. CAPT; PF OVERSHOT LOC. CAPT WENT TO GREEN NEEDLE; RAW DATA AS REQUIRED BY THE G4 FLT MANUAL. CAPT REACTED WITH A L TURN WHEN NOTICED ON THE MFD; ACFT WAS R OF COURSE; EVEN THOUGH GREEN COURSE NEEDLE HAD NOT MOVED DUE TO WRONG FREQ DIALED IN. ATC NOTICED AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME AND INSTRUCTED A MORE AGGRESSIVE L TURN TO INTERCEPT THE LOC. NO CONFLICTS NOTED. ACFT CORRECT ASAP AND LANDED NORMALLY AS DID ACFT IN FRONT; BEHIND AND BESIDE G4. SUGGEST AMENDING ATIS TO INCLUDE ACTIVE APCHS FROM ARRS; JUST LIKE MOST ICAO COUNTRIES DO. DON'T CHANGE APCHS SO CLOSE TO ARPT.
