ZFW CTLR EXPERIENCED OPERROR AT APPROX 16000; MAKING WRONG SPEED ASSUMPTIONS; CITING CURRENT WORKING CONDITIONS AS CONTRIBUTORY.

Narrative

I WAS WORKING UIM-LO; A LOW ALT; E; DEP SECTOR E OF DFW APCH CTL. I WAS WORKING BY MYSELF WITH NO D-SIDE OR HDOF. I WAS FEEDING 2 HIGH ALT SECTORS; TXK-HI HAD A RADAR AND A D-SIDE CTLR; SLR-HI HAD ONLY AN R-SIDE. BEFORE I WORKED THE RADAR I WORKED THE D-SIDE ON UIM; BEFORE THAT A COMPUTER BASED INSTRUCTION TEST; BEFORE THAT ANOTHER 'CBI.' I HAD BEEN MOVED FROM POS TO POS WITH NO BREAKS JUST TO MAKE SURE MY TIME 'HAD BEEN PRODUCTIVE.' ACR Y HAD DEPARTED DFW AND WAS FLYING OUT THE 084 DEG RADIAL ON ITS ASSIGNED DEP RTE. ACR X HAD DEPARTED DALLAS LOVE AND WAS FLYING OUT THE 094 DEG RADIAL ON ITS ASSIGNED DEP RTE. ACR Y ALWAYS FLIES SLOW; ACR X ALWAYS FLY FAST; EXCEPT WHEN I'M NOT PAYING STRICT ATTN. I CLRED ACR X DIRECT TEKBE; A FIX ON THE DEP RTE; TO SHORT CUT HIM A BIT. I THOUGHT THE ACR X WOULD OUT PERFORM THE ACR Y. ACR X DIDN'T. THE TURN PUT ACR X AND ACR Y INTO CONFLICTION. I SCREWED UP. AT THE SAME TIME THE MENTAL ANGUISH THAT HAS BEEN SURROUNDING ME BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE IMPOSED WORK RULES HAS REALLY BEEN CAUSING ME PROBS. I WAS TIRED DUE TO LACK OF SLEEP; HUNGRY; BECAUSE I KEPT GETTING MOVED AROUND FROM TASK TO TASK; POS TO POS; THE CAFETERIA CLOSED AND I COULDN'T GET FOOD. I'M JUMPY AND FULL OF SELF DOUBT BECAUSE MGMNT IS CONTINUOUSLY HAMMERING ON ALL OF US. I HAVE NO SAFETY NET AND DON'T WANT TO BE A CTLR ANYMORE.
