WT AND TEMP ALLOWED FOR A TKOF FROM RWY 5L AT MMMX; SO THIS RWY WAS ACCEPTED WHEN ASSIGNED. FROM A CURSORY STUDY OF ARPT DIAGRAM; IT APPEARED THAT A TKOF FROM RWY 5L SHOULD BE COMMENCED FROM INTXN B2; ARPT DIAGRAM DESIGNATES THE PORTION OF RWY 5L PRIOR TO THIS INTXN AS STOPWAY. MEXICO CITY TWR TOLD US TO TAXI ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE STOPWAY AND PLAN TKOF FROM TXWY A INTXN. A MUCH CLOSER INSPECTION OF THE TPS REVEALED THE STOPWAY COULD AND SHOULD BE USED FOR THE TKOF. TO PREVENT AN INAPPROPRIATE TKOF FROM TXWY B2 IN THE FUTURE; I MAKE TWO SUGGESTIONS. FIRST AND FOREMOST; THE APCH END OF RWY 5L ON THE ARPT DIAGRAM SHOULD NOT BE SHOWN AS A STOPWAY BUT RATHER AS A RWY WITH DISPLACED THRESHOLD ALL THE WAY BACK TO TXWY A. SECOND; THE HIGHLIGHTED BOX ON THE TKOF PERFORMANCE PAGE BEGINS: 'TWY 5L/23R TKOF LENGTHS ARE SHORTER THAN PAVEMENT LENGTH SHOWN ON ARPT DIAGRAM. FULL LENGTH IS AVAILABLE FOR ACCEL-STOP PURPOSES.' BECAUSE STOPWAYS NORMALLY REFER TO THE PORTION OF THE RWY AT THE DEP END OF THE RWY AND NOT THE APCH END; I SUGGEST THIS LAST SENTENCE READ: 'TKOF FROM TXWY A IS AVAILABLE FOR ACCEL-STOP PURPOSES WHEN TAKING OFF ON RWY 5L.'
