GIV CAPT AFTER MISSING INITIAL ALT RESTR AND CORRECTING; RPTS VERBAL DISPUTE WITH N90 CTLR DURING THE LATTER PORTION OF THE TEB 5 DEP.

Narrative

OUR DEP CLRNC WAS VIA TEB 5 RV-LANNA-EAST TEXAS-V39-MULRR-DCT-AML-DCT- EXPECT 8000/10 MINS... ON TKOF PF WAS WITH EXCESSIVE RATE OF CLB SO I PUSHED CTLS FORWARD; ACFT CLBED TO 1700 FT AND THEN LEVELED OFF AT 1500 FT AS PER SID; I MISSED TWR INSTRUCTIONS TO CHANGE TO DEP SO I CALLED BACK AND WAS RELEASED; ON CONTACTING DEP I WAS TOLD TO PROCEED DIRECT SOLBERG (SBJ) AND VIA V?? CALLED BACK AND WAS TOLD AGAIN DIRECT SBJ AND THEN VIA V30; I HAD SID AND AREA CHART AND COULD NOT FIND V30; AND TOLD CTLR SO; HE CAME BACK RANTING AND ALMOST SCREAMING THAT V30 WAS ON THE CHART AND TO LOOK FOR IT; I REPLIED THAT MY CLRNC WAS TEB 5-LANNA EAST TEXAS; HE CAME WITH SAME ATTITUDE; THAT HE HAD THE AUTHORITY TO ISSUE AMENDED CLRNCS AND TOLD ME AGAIN TO LOOK AT MY CHART. IN THE MEANTIME; I GOT HOLD OF THE LO ALTITUDE CHART AND FOUND V30; TO MY SURPRISE THE DISTANCE FROM SBJ TO LANNA WAS 13 NM ON THE SAME HDG. ALL THIS CONFUSION WOULD NOT HAD HAPPENED IF I HAD AS THIRD CHART THE LO-ENRTE; BUT ALSO THE CTLR COULD HAVE VERY EASILY CLRED ME SBJ-LANNA; A 13 NM DISTANCE ON OUR SAME HDG.
