AN ACR PILOT FILED FOR AND WAS GIVEN A ROUTING CHANGE PRIOR TO DEP. ENROUTE THE CREW CHECKED WITH ATC AND FOUND THE ORIGINAL ROUTING STILL ACTIVE.
Narrative
THIS RPT CONCERNS A DIFFERENCE IN OUR FULL RTE CLRNC ASSIGNED BY BWI VERSUS WHAT ZID SHOWED ON THEIR STRIP. PRIOR TO DEP AT BWI; I CALLED DISPATCH CONCERNING A WT ISSUE FROM BWI. THE DISPATCHER AND I AGREED TO CHANGE THE RTE TO LOWER THE FUEL BURN. DISPATCH INFORMED ME THAT SHE WOULD CALL ATC TO CONFIRM THE NEW RTE SINCE WE WERE ABOUT 35 MINS PRIOR TO DEP. DURING PREFLT; MY FO AND I CHKED OUR PDC AND SAW THAT THE OLD RTE WAS IN THE SYS. WE CONTACTED BWI CLRNC FOR A FULL RTE CLRNC. WE WERE GIVEN BWI TERPZ1 LDN J134 HNN STL.... WE HAD REQUESTED BWI TERPZ1 LDN J134 STL.... THE DIFFERENCE BEING HNN DIRECT STL VERSUS J134 TO STL. MY FO AND I CONFIRMED THE CLRNC AND ENTERED IT INTO THE FMC. DURING CRUISE ABOUT 20 MI E OF HNN; I CONTACTED ZID TO CONFIRM THAT THEY SHOWED THE SAME RTE THAT WE WERE GIVEN BY BWI; SINCE THERE WAS A DIFFERENCE FROM OUR FILED RTE. ATC SAID THAT THEY HAD OUR CLRNC AS LDN J134 STL. I THEN ASKED IF WE COULD GO HNN DIRECT STL AS ASSIGNED BY BWI CLRNC DELIVERY. ATC WORKED IT OUT AND GAVE US THE RTE WE REQUESTED. HE SOUNDED A LITTLE ANNOYED AND THEN ASKED FOR OUR CHIEF PLT'S PHONE NUMBER. I CALLED ZID ON THE TELEPHONE TO FIND OUT THE WHOLE STORY. HE CONFIRMED THAT WE HAD NO DEV BECAUSE WE QUERIED HIM PRIOR TO THE HNN FIX. APPARENTLY; THIS SEEMS TO BE A TREND OF FULL RTE CLRNCS FROM POTOMAC CTL (BWI; IAD; DCA) BEING DIFFERENT THAN THE ONES GIVEN TO THE CTRS. I AM WRITING THIS RPT TO HAVE SOMEONE LOOK INTO THIS TO SEE IF THERE IS A LARGER ISSUE GOING ON WITH CLRNCS.
