CONFUSING LANGUAGE OF PDC RESULTS IN TRACK DEVIATION AT ARR ARPT FOR ERJ FLT CREW.

RECEIVED PDC CLRNC FROM ZZZ ON GND WHICH READ AS FOLLOWS: 'ZZZ ABC GRD UNARM/CLT.' FLEW THE SID AS ASSIGNED BY ATC. CLEARED BY ZTL ENROUTE ATC TO CROSS ADENA AT 12000 FT AND 250 KTS; WHICH IS THE USUAL AND CUSTOMARY CLRNC FOR THE RWY CONFIGURATION FOR SBND ARRS IN CLT. THE FMC WAS LOADED WITH THE ADENA1 ARR FOR RWY 18R; WHICH; AS PF I LOADED AND BRIEFED AT THE APPROPRIATE SAFE ALTITUDE/LOW WORKLOAD ENVIRONMENT. WHEN HANDED OVER TO CLT APCH CTL; THE PNF CHKED IN AND GAVE THEM THE APPROPRIATE CALL SIGN AND ATIS CODE; UPON WHICH WE RECEIVED THE COM TO 'EXPECT RWY 23.' AT THAT TIME; I PROCEEDED TO RETRIEVE THE APCH PLATE FOR RWY 23 AND SET UP MY RADIOS IN THE MCDU AND PFD FOR THAT RWY. HOWEVER; THE PNF OFFERED TO CHANGE THE RWY IN THE COMPUTER TO REFLECT THE RWY CHANGE AND POSSIBLY INSERTED THE UNARM1 ARR INSTEAD OF THE ADENA1; WHICH CAUSED US TO MISS THE TURN AT DOSBE AND CONTINUE TO THE VOR. AS A NEW HIRE PLT; HE WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH PDC AT HIS PRIOR COMPANY AND WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH FORMATTING CODE ON THE PDC WHICH MAY BE LEADING PLTS TO MISTAKE THE PREVIOUSLY MENTION PDC FOR THE UNARM1 ARR. EVEN THOUGH I BRIEFED THE APCH FOR RWY 23 AND CONFIRMED ITS INSERTION INTO THE COMPUTER I EVIDENTLY OVERLOOKED THE INSERTION OF THE UNARM1. OVER OR AFTER DOSBE ATC INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L TO A 050 DEG HEADING AND A DSCNT CLRNC (WHICH I CANNOT REMEMBER WHICH ALTITUDE CLEARED TO) AND WAS ASKED BY APCH TO CALL THEM ON THE GND. WHEN WE LANDED I CALLED THEM AS INSTRUCTED AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THIS IS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM FOR INBOUNDS AND ARE TRYING TO CLEAR UP WHAT MISUNDERSTANDINGS MAY BE OCCURRING. THIS IS WHEN I INFORMED HIM OF OUR PDC CLRNC MISREADS AND WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FIX IT. THE RNAV DEP SID FOR ZZZ OVERLAPS THE RNAV ARR STAR FOR CLT AND DOES NOT DELINEATE A TERMINATING FIX AND/OR ARRIVING FIX APPROPRIATE TO THE SID/STAR STRUCTURE DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE TWO ARPTS. SOLUTION: A FULL RTE CLRNC ON THE PDC FOR DEPARTING ACFT TO DESTS WITH OVERLAPPING STRUCTURES SUCH AS THIS WOULD CLEAR UP MISUNDERSTANDINGS. ALSO; A STANDARD PDC SYMBOL/FACT SHEET WOULD BE HELPFUL IF INCLUDED IN THE PLT'S FOM FOR GUIDANCE AS TO READING ANY PDC.
