G200 FLT CREW REPORTS ALTITUDE DEV DEPARTING FTW DUE TO RELIANCE ON SID VERBIAGE RATHER THAN THE ACTUAL CLEARANCE AS RECEIVED.

Narrative

I RECEIVED OUR CLRNC FROM FTW CLRNC DELIVERY. IT WAS TO MAINTAIN RWY HDG VECTORS FOR THE DALLAS 8 DEP; MAINTAIN 3000 FT; EXPECT FL390 IN 10 MINS; CONTACT DEP ON 135.97; SQUAWK XXXX. MY READBACK WAS CONFIRMED. I GOT OUT THE DALLAS 8 DEP AND SET OUR SQUAWK AND DEP FREQ. AT THAT TIME OUR PAX BEGAN TO ARRIVE AND I LOADED THEIR LUGGAGE. I RETURNED TO THE COCKPIT AND READ THE DALLAS 8 SID. IT SAID TO MAINTAIN 10000 FT UNLESS OTHERWISE ASSIGNED. I SET 10000 FT IN THE ALT SELECTOR. WHEN THE CAPT ARRIVED; I BRIEFED HIM ON THE DEP. I SAID RWY HDG FOR VECTORS TO THE DALLAS 8; MAINTAIN 10000 FT. DURING TAXI OUT; I SAW THAT THE DEP FREQ WAS NOT THE FREQ DEPICTED ON THE SID AND WITHOUT CHKING OUR CLRNC I PUT THE SID FREQ IN COM #2 FOR DEP. AFTER TKOF; I CONTACTED DEP STATING OUT OF 2000 FT CLBING TO 10000 FT. I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT DEP ON A DIFFERENT FREQ. I CHKED IN OUT OF 3000 FT CLBING TO 10000 FT. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO MAINTAIN 8000 FT. LATER WE WERE TALKING WITH ZFW. WE WERE TOLD OF A POSSIBLE DEV AND GIVEN A PHONE NUMBER TO CALL. WE LOOKED AT OUR CLRNC AND DISCOVERED MY ERROR. THIS DEV WAS COMPLETELY MY FAULT. I DID NOT FOLLOW MY OWN TECHNIQUE DURING TAXI OUT TO DOUBLECHK DEP FREQ; ALT AND SQUAWK. MY CHANGING DEP FREQ COMPOUNDED THE SITUATION. THE CORRECT CTLR WOULD HAVE NOTED MY 10000 FT CLB AND CORRECTED US TO MAINTAIN 3000 FT. I HAVE OVER 21000 HRS AND UNTIL NOW NEVER HAD AN ALTDEV. FROM NOW ON; I WILL STRICTLY ADHERE TO MY TECHNIQUE TO CONFIRM ALT; FREQ AND SQUAWK TO PREVENT ANY FURTHER DEVS.
