Narrative

WORKING THE LATE NIGHT SHIFT ON DAY 5 OF WORK WK. EXTREMELY FATIGUED ALL NIGHT; BUT MOSTLY DURING THIS LAST 90 MINS OF MY SHIFT. WORKING 3 APCH CTLS; 2 LOW ALT ENRTE SECTORS AND 2 HIGH ALT SECTORS. BASICALLY; I HAD THE AIRSPACE FROM THE SURFACE TO INFINITY. SEVERAL 'RED-EYE' ACFT INBOUND TO DTW AND CYYZ. SEVERAL DEP ACFT OFF OF LAN; MBS; FNT. ACFT DEPARTING FNT AND MBS REQUIRED CLRNC DELIVERY OF THE FLT PLAN INFO (HEADS DOWN TIME). HAD 20 ACFT CLBING; DSNDING AND TRANSITING THE SECTOR FOR 40 MINS. DURING A NORMAL DAY OR EVENING SHIFT; THE SECTORS WOULD HAVE BEEN DECOMBINED WITH 3-4 CTLRS. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE WORKING THESE POS COMBINED -- ANYTIME -- ESPECIALLY DURING THE TIME A CTLR IS MOST FATIGUED. THE MGMNT DOES NOT STAFF THIS SHIFT APPROPRIATELY TO ACCOMMODATE THIS PREDICTABLE TFC FLOW. IT IS LIKE THIS EVERY MORNING; AND THIS IS GETTING RIDICULOUS. SOLUTION: STAFF THE SHIFT WITH 3 FRESH CTLRS BEGINNING AT XF00. THIS WOULD ENSURE TIRED; FATIGUED CTLRS WORKING THEIR LAST HR OF DUTY; POSSIBLY ON THE LAST HR OF WORK WK; FROM MAKING POTENTIALLY FATAL DECISIONS. HELP! WE NEED TO HAVE THIS BETTER STAFFED OR CURTAIL SVCS.
