LR40 FLT CREW IS CONFUSED BY NOTAM THAT DELETES A CROSSING ALT NOTE AT SBJ WHICH IS NOT SHOWN ON THE COMMERCIAL JAIKE RNAV STAR TO MMU. CREW LATER LEARNS NOTE DOES EXIST ON THE GOVERNMENT CHART.

Narrative

JUST AFTER PASSING JAIKE AT 13000 FT ON THE JAIKE TWO ARR INTO MMU; PHILLY APCH CLEARED US TO DSND VIA THE ARR. NEARING 7000 FT AT REGLE WAYPOINT THE CREW REALIZED THAT THERE WAS A QUESTION OF FINAL ALTITUDE (WHETHER IT WAS 7000 FT OR 4000 FT). WE CONTACTED NEW YORK APCH AND ASK AT WHAT ALTITUDE WE NEEDED TO STOP. ATC SAID THE FINAL ALTITUDE WAS 7000 FT BUT TO CONTINUE THE DSCNT TO 4000 FT. THIS ALL OCCURRED AT 7000 FT. NO DEVIATION WAS MADE. THE CHOICE OF FINAL ALTITUDE WAS CONFUSING DUE TO THE WORDING OF A NOTAM: AIRSPACE JAIKE TWO ARR (RNAV) ... DELETE NOTE: ASSOCIATED WITH SOLBERG SBJ: EXPECT TO CROSS AT 4000 FT. THE NOTE REFERRED TO BY THIS NOTAM HAD ALREADY BEEN DELETED ON THE COMMERCIAL CHART THEREFORE IT LED THE CREW TO BELIEVE THAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DSND TO 4000 FT. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS NO DEVIATION; IT VERY WELL COULD HAVE BEEN HAD WE NOT CLARIFIED IT WITH ATC. AFTER RESEARCHING A BIT IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE NOTE IS ON THE GOVERNMENT CHARTS THUS THE NOTAM WOULD MAKE PERFECT SINCE IF USING GOVERNMENT CHARTS.
