AN ACR PLT DEPARTED LFPG RWY 27L AT Y11 WHICH IS 1969 FT SHORT OF THE END. THE ARPT CHART RWY LIGHTING DEPICTION GIVES THE ILLUSION THAT Y11 IS THE RWY END.

Narrative

INADVERTENTLY DEPARTED RWY 27L AT Y11 WITH DATA FOR FULL LENGTH RWY 27L. SHOULD HAVE HAD RWY 27LJ. NOTICED ERROR AFTER TAKEOFF AND REVIEWED TO SEE IF DATA WAS STILL VALID FOR Y11 AND FOUND OUR WEIGHT WAS UNDER FOR EITHER DEP POINT. SO NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES. IN FACT DATA WAS VIRTUALLY THE SAME. DURING PRE-DEP BRIEFING IT WAS MENTIONED THAT THIS WAS OUR STANDARD DEP POINT AND THE DATA WAS GOOD. A FEW THINGS THAT MAY BE A FACTOR IS HOW THE COMMERCIAL PAGE SHOWS RWY 27L WITH APCH LIGHTS PRECEDING THE POINT WHERE Y11 STARTS; OF COURSE THIS IS A DISPLACED THRESHOLD BUT IT LEADS ONE TO SEE IT AS THE BEGINNING OF THE RWY. ALSO AFTER SEARCHING OTHER PAGES TO SEE IF WE MISSED ANYTHING; SOME INFO WAS FOUND BUT NOT ENOUGH TO DIRECTLY POINT US IN A MORE CLEAR DIRECTION TO USE INTXN DATA. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME IN 14 YEARS TO FLY TO LFPG. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE PERHAPS ON ONE PAGE INFORMATION AS TO WHAT IS OUR USUAL DEP POINTS AND A NOTE ABOUT USING RWY 27LJ IF DEPARTING ON RWY 27L. CREW WAS INVOLVED IN THE DEBRIEF TO IDENTIFY WHAT OCCURRED AND HOW NOT TO LET THIS HAPPEN AGAIN.
