Narrative
AS RELIEF FO; I ENTERED THE COCKPIT AS THE CREW WAS DSNDING THROUGH 10400 FT. THEY WERE IN A 4000 FPM DSCNT OR BETTER; AND THE AUTOPLT WAS DISCONNECTED BECAUSE THE FO (PF) INTERPED THE AUTOPLT WAS NOT FOLLOWING THE ARR ARC. THEY INFORMED ME THEY HAD BEEN GIVEN A DIFFERENT ARR INSIDE THE IAF BUT COULD NOT FIND THE ARR IN THE PAPER CHARTS. THEY LOADED THE SAM 5 ARR IN THE FMS AND WERE TRYING TO FOLLOW THE FMS GUIDANCE. APCH CTL THEN CALLED AND SAID WE WERE SUPPOSED TO LEVEL OFF AT 11000 FT AS WE WERE PASSING THROUGH 9500 FT IN THE DSCNT. THEY CONFIRMED WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE ON THE SAM 5 ARR; AND THEN GAVE US A VECTOR AND A DSCNT TO MAINTAIN 9000 FT. AFTER TIME TO REVIEW THE ISSUE POSTFLT; THE SAM 5 ARR WAS EFFECTIVE AUG/XA/08. I FOUND THE COMMERCIAL SAM 5 ARR (VERY CONFUSING BECAUSE IT IS LISTED UNDER RNAV ARRS; NOT ILS ARRS) AND WE COMPARED IT TO THE FMS DATABASE. THE FMS WAS WRONG; AND STILL HAD THE ARR WITH AN ARC; WHERE THE NEW ARR DOES NOT. ALSO; THE ARR HAS AN ALT LIMIT OF 10000 FT (NOT THE 11000 FT CALLED FOR BY ARR CTL); BUT THE FMS HAD NO SUCH ALT LIMIT AND WAS TRYING TO GET TO A 6500 FT RESTR. NEW DELHI RADAR DID NOT SEEM TO HAVE A PROB WITH THE DEV AND ASKED US TO COORD THE CHANGE WITH OUR COMPANY AS IT WAS A NEW ARR.
