Narrative

ABOUT 40 MI W OF ZZZ AT FL350; ECAM BLUE HYD LOW SYS PRESSURE; FOLLOWED ECAM AND QRH PROCS; LOCATED BLUE HYD ELEVATOR PUMP CIRCUIT BREAKER AND FOUND IT POPPED. ACARS MESSAGE SENT TO MAINT ABOUT MECHANICAL PROB; RECEIVED REPLY FROM MAINT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THE MECHANICAL PROB CHKED OUT IN ZZZ1; AND TO ENTER INTO THE MAINT LOG. RECEIVED ACARS MESSAGE FROM DISPATCH ABOUT 15-20 MINS LATER; DISPATCHER'S MESSAGE WAS THAT AFTER REVIEWING THE PROB MAYBE IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO RETURN TO ZZZ2; BECAUSE ACFT WOULD BE GNDED IN ZZZ1; AND WHAT DID I THINK. AFTER CONFERRING WITH FO; WE DECIDED TO RETURN TO ZZZ2; SENT ACARS TO DISPATCHER ABOUT THE RETURN; AND HE REPLIED THAT HE AGREED. NOTIFIED FLT ATTENDANT'S ABOUT THE HYD PROB AND ADVISED THEM IT WOULD BE A NORMAL APCH AND LNDG AND WE WOULD BE LNDG IN ABOUT 1 HR. MADE PA ANNOUNCEMENT TO PAX ABOUT THE MECHANICAL PROB AND EXPLAINED WHAT WAS WRONG; AND WE WOULD BE RETURNING TO ZZZ2 AND WE WOULD BE MAKING A NORMAL APCH AND LNDG AT ZZZ2. REVIEWED LNDG PROCS AND LNDG DISTANCES IN QRH; APCH AND LNDG WERE NORMAL.
