AIR CARRIER FLIGHT CREW REPORTS MISSING CHANGE TO FILED ROUTE ON PDC AND HAS A TRACK DEVIATION.
Narrative
THE FO; BEING RIGHT OFF OF IOE; WAS DOING A GREAT JOB AND HAD COME FROM A PRIOR POSITION WITH A LOT OF B737 TIME. HE DID HAVE SOME PROBS WITH THE PDC ON OUR FIRST DAY WHEN HE DID NOT NOTICE OUR CLRNC HAD BEEN CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL DEP. I INFORMED HIM TO LOOK FOR THE '-' OR '/' IN THE PDC -- THAT THIS IS AN AMENDED CLRNC. NORMALLY; I CHK THE PDC WHEN I CHK THE FMC ROUTING TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD. WHEN WE CAME TO THE DEP BRIEF; HE STATED WE WERE CLRED AS FILED. I MENTIONED THAT WAS STRANGE AND WAS HE SURE THERE WAS NO DEP BUT FLY TO THE PHX VOR THEN DIRECT TUS. HE ASSURED ME THAT WAS THE CLRNC. OUR DEP WAS ROUTINE WHEN ATC QUESTIONED OUR HDG. THE FO STATED 130 DEGS GOING DIRECT TO TUS. THE CTLR ASKED WHERE WE GOT THAT CLRNC. I THEN CHKED OUR PDC AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS AN AMENDED CLRNC TO FLY THE TFD 2 DEP. WE RECEIVED A HDG AT THE TIME AND JOINED THE DEP. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A PDC PAGE THAT IS A LITTLE LESS CONFUSING THAN WHAT WE HAVE. I ALSO SEE NO NEED TO PRINT BOTH THE AMENDED CLRNC AND THE ORIGINAL CLRNC ON THE PDC. THIS SEEMS TO CONFUSE SOME PLTS AS TO WHAT IS YOUR ACTUAL CLRNC.
