A TLH LOCAL CONTROLLER ASKED A LIGHT TRANSPORT CREW IF THEY COULD KEEP A SMALL AIRCRAFT IN SIGHT. THEY APPLIED AFFIRMATIVE BUT HAD A NMAC AT THE NEAR INTERSECTING RUNWAYS THRESHOLDS.

Narrative

I WAS ON AN IFR FLT TO TLH. ALTHOUGH THE ARPT WAS VFR; I WAS IMC COMING IN FROM THE W. APCH VECTORED ME TO THE GPS RWY 9 AND THEN HANDED ME OFF TO THE TWR. TWR CLRED ME TO LAND AND ASKED ME TO KEEP MY SPD UP. I BROKE OUT JUST INSIDE THE FAF AND BECAUSE I WAS ASKED TO KEEP MY SPD UP; FLEW MY APCH AT 105 KTS WHICH IS JUST BELOW MY GEAR DOWN SPD AND ABOUT 20 KTS HIGHER THAN NORMAL APCH. I THEN HEARD TWR ASK A LIGHT TWIN IF HE HAD ME IN SIGHT AND COULD HE KEEP SEPARATION. THE LIGHT TWIN RESPONDED YES TO BOTH AND THEN WAS CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 36. THESE 2 APCHS INTERSECT AT THE THRESHOLD OF EACH RWY. WHEN I WAS ON VERY SHORT FINAL; I REDUCED PWR AND PULLED MY NOSE UP SO I COULD SLOW DOWN TO FLAP OPERATING SPD AND GET TO A NORMAL LNDG SPD. AT THAT INSTANT THE JET FLASHED BY VERY CLOSE; AHEAD AND BELOW. I LANDED AND 3 PEOPLE FROM THE FBO CAME OUT TO ASK ABOUT THE EVENT AND ONE REMARKED HE HAD SEEN ME PULL UP. ONLY LATER DID IT OCCUR TO ME THAT I HAD ONLY PULLED UP BY CHANCE IN ORDER TO SLOW DOWN; NOT EVADE. THERE ARE SEVERAL WAYS TO AVOID SIMULTANEOUS INTERSECTING APCHS. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN GETTING ANYONE IN TROUBLE; ONLY MAKING THIS ARPT SAFER.
