AFTER A PAPERWORK AUDIT; TWO MECHANICS ARE INFORMED THE NOSE TIRES THEY INSTALLED ON A B737-700 WERE THE WRONG EFFECTIVITY.

Narrative

I WAS ASSIGNED ACFT TO DO AN OVERNIGHT CHK. ON THE CHK; I HAD 3 TIRES TO CHANGE -- #3 MAIN AND THE L AND R NOSE TIRES. I CHANGED THE #3 MAIN TIRE AND MECH #2 STARTED TO CHANGE THE NOSE TIRES. AT THAT TIME IT STARTED RAINING REALLY HARD; SO I TOLD MECHANIC #2 THAT WE WOULD TAKE A BREAK AND GET SOME COFFEE AND SEE IF THE RAIN WOULD LET UP COME. WHEN WE CAME BACK; THE RAIN HAD LET UP SO WE FINISHED INSTALLING THE NOSE TIRES. I INSTALLED 1 TIRE AND MECH #2; THE OTHER. I WENT TO GET THE TIRE CART. THERE WERE 4 MAIN TIRES AND 2 NOSE TIRES ON THE CART AND I ASSUMED THAT THEY WERE NOSE TIRES. FILLED OUT THE PARTS TAGS AND I SIGNED OFF THE INSTALLATION. I TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PROB. IT WAS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO CHK THE TAGS AND BE SURE WE INSTALLED THE PROPER PARTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 815534: I ARRIVED AT ASSIGNED ACFT TO HELP MECH #1 CHANGE NOSE TIRES. MECH #1 HAD ALREADY GOT THE NOSE TIRES TO THE ACFT. I CHANGED THE #2 AND HE CHANGED #1 TIRE. I FILLED OUT THE PARTS TAG. I DID NOT NOTICE THAT THEY WERE THE WRONG EFFECTIVITY.
