Narrative
SFO TWR CLRD AN LTT TO TAKE OFF ON 010L AND ACR X LGT TO TAKE OFF CONCURRENTLY ON 010R. ACR Y WAS DIRECTED TO CLB OUT STRAIGHT AHEAD. IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF ACR Y CLOSED ON US. ACFT WAS OBSERVED TO TURN TO 030 DEGS. WE TURNED TO 030 DEGS TO AVOID HIM. TWR CLRD US TO DEP 120.9. DEP GAVE US AN IMMEDIATE TURN TO 050 DEGS. ALL EVENTS OCCURRED BTWN GND AND 500'. POSITIVE SEP DEFINITELY REQUIRED MANEUVERING BY US; ACR X. TWR MADE NO ATTEMPT TO SEPARATE ACFT BEFORE HANDING US OVER TO DEP. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 82369: BOTH ACR X AND I; AN LTT; WERE AWAITING CLRNC FOR TKOF WHILE WE WERE HOLDING ON THE '1'S' AT SFO; HE ON THE RIGHT AND ME ON THE LEFT. IT WAS A SIMULTANEOUS TKOF. RIGHT AS WERE ISSUED CLRNC FOR TKOF; WE WERE ALSO GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO MAINTAIN RWY HDG WHICH WE PROMPTLY ACKNOWLEDGED. ON DEP WE WERE ASKED TO VERIFY OUR HDG AND MY F/O CORRECTLY RPTED '010 DEGS.' APPARENTLY THE ACR X FELT WE WERE HDG TOWARDS HIM. I WAS TOLD TO CALL A PHONE NUMBER AS WE WERE HANDED OFF TO BAY APCH AND UPON LNDG I TALKED WITH THE SFO TWR SUPVR WHO INDICATED THAT IT APPEARED WE WERE DRIFTING/TURNING TOWARDS THE ACR X LGT. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS COMPLYING WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS AND MY F/O RPTED THE OTHER JET IN SIGHT AND NO FACTOR. LATER WE DETERMINED THAT MY HSI WAS OFF 5-10 DEGS; THE AIRPLANE WAS GNDED UNTIL A FERRY PERMIT COULD BE SECURED FOR RETURN TO FRESNO. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS MIGHT ALSO BE CREW INEXPERIENCE. I HAVE LESS THAN 100 HRS AS A CAPT AND IT WAS THE F/O'S FIRST DAY ON THE LINE.
