APCHING RWY 25L TWR ADVISED; 'LTT X CROSS 35L POS 35R; BE PREPARED FOR IMMEDIATE DEP; TFC 3 MI FINAL.' F/O REPLIED; 'ROGER; CROSS THE LEFT POS AND HOLD 35R; WE'RE READY.' I THEN STATED; 'CONTINUE THE CHK;' AND WE COMPLETED THE CLRED FOR TKOF CHKLIST AS WE TAXIED BTWN THE 2 RWYS. BEFORE ENTERING 35R I CLRED THE APCH PATH VISUALLY TO ENSURE THERE WAS ADEQUATE SEP FOR DEP. APPROX 1 MIN ELAPSED WHILE WE HELD IN POS WHILE WAITING FOR THE PREVIOUS ARR TO CLR THE RWY. THE PREVIOUS ARR MISSED THE FIRST HIGH SPD AND WAS A LITTLE SLOW CLRING THE SECOND HIGH SPD. TWR THEN STATED; 'LTT X; CLR THE RWY; YOU WERE NOT CLRED ONTO THE RWY;' TO WHICH I RESPONDED; 'IS THAT FOR LTT X? WE WERE CLRED INTO POS;' TO WHICH TWR RESPONDED; 'AH; YES; LTT X CLR THE RWY. NO YOU WEREN'T SIR;' TO WHICH I RESPONDED; 'LTT CLRING; MARK THE TAPE.' THE TWR THEN STATED; 'ACR Y GO AROUND; RWY HDG; 3000'; CONTACT DEP 118.25; LTT X HOLD YOUR POS.' MY F/O THEN STATED; 'LTT X HOLDING.' 2 MINS ELAPSED AND WE WERE THEN CLRED FOR THE TKOF AND I AGAIN STATED; 'LTT X CLRED FOR TKOF; PLEASE MARK THE TAPE SO I CAN REVIEW IT LATER.' TWR ACKNOWLEDGED AND SENT US TO DEP AT XA35. WHEN TIME PERMITTED I RELAYED THE INCIDENT TO MY DISPATCHER WHO RECORDED MY DISSERTATION AND I REQUESTED THE CVR TAPE PULLED UPON MY RETURN (I HAD PULLED THE CB). MAINT ADVISED THAT THE CVR WAS A SEALED UNIT AND COULD NOT BE PULLED; SO I RESET THE CB.
