Synopsis

A Flight Attendant reported an emergency landing after the flaps failed to extend on an unspecified aircraft type.

Narrative

Towards the end of our flight; the Captain called to inform us that there was an issue with the flaps on the wings. He said that there would be safety vehicles meeting the plane upon landing; but that the landing would be normal. This was declared an emergency landing. The Captain said we had about ten minutes until landing. I immediately informed the second Flight Attendant of the situation. At this point in the flight; the personal electronic device announcement had been made and all passengers were in compliance. The other Flight Attendant and myself had everything in the galley secured and we checked on the passengers again. We prepared for landing as normal. Everything was smooth from thereon out. Landing was smooth and I could feel that we took more time to slow down on the runway [we were on the full runway; so this was not a problem]. We taxied into the gate as normal and all passengers were okay. The event occurred because the flaps on the aircraft wings were unable to extend due to an issue that is unknown to me.
