Narrative
INITIAL FLT PLAN WAS SLC-J154-BAM-J32-OAK-BEBOP-R464-BITTA-MAGGI2 - HNL. DURING CLIMB OUT FROM SLC I WAS CLRED DIRECT OAK AND AFTER PASSING ABEAM SAC I WAS CLRED PRESENT POSITION DIRECT BEBOP. I CHECKED BOTH OMEGA AS AGAINST THE OAK VOR/DME ON THE 227 DEG R 120 DME FIX AND BOTH REQUIRED NO UPDATE. APCHING BEBOP I WAS INFORMED BY OAK CENTER THAT I WAS 12 MILES LEFT OF COURSE. BECAUSE BOTH VOR DME READOUTS FROM THE OAK VORTAC SHOWED ME IN THE CORRECT POSITION; I ASKED THE CTLR TO CHECK HIS RADAR. HE INFORMED ME THAT HE DID; AND HE WAS ADAMANT THAT I WAS ON AN INCORRECT COURSE EVEN THOUGH I INFORMED HIM OF MY VOR/DME CHECK. AFTER SEVERAL RADAR POSITION CHECKS FROM HIM; I ACCEPTED A RADAR FIX AND ENTERED 36.35 NORTH; 126.23 WEST AS MY PRESENT POSITION IN #1 OMEGA. I THEN ACCEPTED RADAR VECTORS TO INTERCEPT WHAT HE SHOWED AND WHAT MY #1 OMEGA NOW SHOWED AS ON TRACK FOR R4640. #2 OMEGA REMAINED TUNED AS SET BEFORE TKOF AND CHECKED INBOUND TO OAK. DURING THE FLT OVER-OCEAN I NAVIGATED DIRECTLY BY #1 OMEGA WITH CHECKS ON CROSS TRACK DISTANCE FROM #2 AND LOGGED EACH WAYPOINT READOUT AND CROSS TRACK DISTANCE. AFTER REPORTING BRADR TO OCEANIC CTL I WAS INSTRUCTED TO CONTACT HONOLULU CENTER. ON FIRST CALL UP I WAS IMMEDIATELY INFORMED THAT I WAS TO THE RIGHT OF TRACK BY 10 MILES AND I THEN INFORMED CENTER THAT THIS WAS DUE TO INCORRECT RADAR POSITION REPORTS FROM THE OAKLAND CENTER CTLR. I WAS THEN CLRED DIRECT TO KOKOHEAD. MY #1 VOR WAS PRESELECTED TO THE MKK VORTAC FOR THE INITIAL LEG OF THE MAGGI 1 ARRIVAL AND I INADVERTENTLY HOMED TO MKK. MY DIVERGENCE FROM A DIRECT TRACK TO CKH WAS NOTED BY THE HNL CENTER CTLR AS I WAS CORRECTING BACK; AND I ACCEPTED A VECTOR TO INTERCEPT A SPECIFIC RADIAL TO CKH. OMEGA READOUTS OVER CKH AND ON THE GND AT HNL SHOWED THE #2 OMEGA SETTING STILL CORRECT. I SUGGEST THAT THE RADAR SYSTEM FOR OAK CENTER BE CHECKED.
