Synopsis
ZFW controller expressed concern regarding confused routing information/format from the Dallas Metroplex area when ZFW is operating in DARC.
Narrative
I was working TXK HI-SLR HI-UIM Lo combined; and ZFW was DARC (Direct Access Radar Channel) only. AFW called for a clearance on Air Carrier XXXX and Air Carrier XXXY. Someone had brought the flight information to us but it was presented in a confusing format. I could not ascertain the destination. I told the AFW Controller I could not give a clearance because D10 overlays their airspace; but I did give him the part of the route; understanding I'd verify it when the aircraft got to my frequency. The AFW controller said it was confusing to him as well. I will check the LOA's to see if/what it says about clearances out of the Metroplex when ZFW is DARC. If there is something there; I don't think many controllers are familiar with the procedure. Further; the flight plan information we get during DARC is difficult to understand and should be presented in a format more similar to our flight progress strips. If this can't be accomplished; perhaps a CBI (Computer Based Instruction) should be designed to teach it.
