GA SMA UNAUTH PENETRATION OF AIRSPACE DTW TCA.
Narrative
IN JUN/88 I WAS FLYING FROM 3HO HOBART; IN; TO YIP WILLOW RUN. I WAS UTILIZING THE SERVICES OF RADAR FOLLOWING. STARTING WITH SBN SOUTH BEND; IN; AND WAS SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED OVER TO CLEVELAND CENTER. I REQUESTED FROM CLEVELAND CENTER FOR ASSISTANCE INTO WILLOW RUN ARPT AND I WAS ASSURED THAT I'D BE GIVEN FREQ CHANGE AT APPROPRIATE TIME. WHEN NEARING YIP I WAS GIVEN FREQ CHANGE. WHEN I TUNED NEW FREQ THE CTLR WAS TALKING WITH TREMENDOUS SPEED AND ALMOST NON-STOP. EVERY TIME I ANTICIPATED A PAUSE IN THE CTLR'S VOICE I WOULD KEY THE MIKE BUT UPON RELEASING IT I WOULD HEAR HIS TALKING AGAIN TO SOME OTHER ACFT. AFTER WHAT SEEMED LIKE ENDLESS ATTEMPTS THE CTLR ACKNOWLEDGED MY CONTACT. BEING UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT I WAS HANDED OVER FROM CLEVELAND CENTER. I IDENTIFIED MYSELF ADDING THAT I WOULD APPRECIATE HELP GETTING INTO WILLOW RUN. THE CTLR REPLIED WITH GREAT IMPERTINENCE THAT HE HAD NO TIME FOR ME AND TO STAND BY. UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT I HAVE ESTABLISHED CONTACT I TOOK CARE TO CONTINUE ON THE SAME HDG AND ALT; AWAITING FURTHER COMMUNICATION FOR VECTORING OR INSTRUCTIONS. THE CTLR NEVER AGAIN CONTACTED ME. MEANWHILE THE WILLOW RUN ARPT CAME INTO SITE AND I KNEW THAT I COULD NO LONGER WAIT FOR THE APCH CTLR AND AT THAT TIME CHANGED FREQS TO WILLOW RUN CTL TWR ADVISING HIM OF MY POSITION AND THE CODE I WAS STILL SQUAWKING AND ASKED FOR LNDG ADVISORY. AT THAT TIME CTL TWR CTLR ADVISED ME THAT I WAS INSIDE THE TCA WITHOUT PROPER CLRNC AND SUBSEQUENTLY PROVIDED ME WITH LNDG INSTRUCTIONS. I FEEL THAT THE ALLEGED VIOLATION WAS BROUGHT ABOUT BY THE OVER BURDENED CTLR AND HIS TOTAL DISREGARD FOR MY NEED AND MY REQUEST FOR ASSISTANCE.
