Narrative
DEPARTED RWY 22 DONALDSON ARPT; GREENVILLE; SC. WX WAS VFR; BUT VERY BAD TSTMS APCHING FROM NNW. I TRIED TO PHONE FSS FROM LOCKHEED FBO ON 800 LINE TO FILE IFR PLAN; BUT COULD NOT REACH THEM--LINE WAS BUSY. TRIED SEVERAL TIMES OVER 15 MIN PERIOD. LOCKHEED SUPVR TRIED HIMSELF--ALSO GOT BUSY SIGNAL. SINCE WX WAS GETTING WORSE I DECIDED TO LEAVE WHILE STILL VFR AND FILE IN AIR. I TRIED CALLING FSS ON 122.2 AFTER DEPARTING RWY 22 ON LEFT DOWNWIND; WOULD NOT ANSWER UP TO 3000'. I THEN CALLED GREER DEP ON 188.8; ADVISED HIM MY LOCATION; THAT I WANTED TO FILE IFR TO CHARLOTTE. HE TOOK INFO NEEDED; ASSIGNED ME 5000' AND GAVE ME A TRANSPONDER CODE. AFTER FLYING A SHORT WHILE HE PASSED ME OFF TO ANOTHER CTLR; WHO THEN ASKED IF I HAD DEPARTED DONALDSON. I SAID I HAD. HE THEN ADVISED ME THAT HE HAD BEEN WATCHING ME SINCE I DEPARTED DONALDSON AND THAT I HAD FLOWN ACROSS THE ARSA. HE THEN GAVE ME ANOTHER CODE AND CLRED MY FLT PLAN TO CHARLOTTE; NC. I FLEW THE PATH OR HDG; ALT AND CODE APPROVED BY FIRST CTLR. PROB ONLY CAME FROM SECOND GREER CTLR. NO PROB WITH FIRST CTLR; NOR CHARLOTTE CTLR. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT SECOND CTLR WAS NOT TALKING WITH FIRST CTLR!!!!
