Synopsis

Advised of a runway incursion by BDR Tower; the pilot of a small aircraft investigated the taxiway markings and alleges there is no hold short line for Runway 29 on Taxiway D.

Narrative

I was advised of a runway incursion by the Tower Controller at BDR. I was taxiing on Taxiway A with permission to cross Runway 28; for Taxiway D/Runway 20 [24] for an intersection departure. After crossing Runway 28 [29] on Taxiway A I made a right turn on to Taxiway D and was expecting to hold short of Runway 20; but seeing no hold short line on the Taxiway D; I stopped short of the runway. At this time I was advised that I had passed the hold short line. Never did I pass over a hold short line. There is clear taxi from Taxiway A to Taxiway D.Tower had me continue on Runway 20 [24]; with right turn on Runway 28 [29]; with right turn on Taxiway A across Taxiway D Intersection; perform 180 degree turn to hold short in opposite direction. At this time I could see the lack of markings on the ramp. There is no hold short line across the Taxiway D.Post flight I pulled up computer satellite images and viewed the markings. The markings on the satellite photo of this area do not reflect what exists at the airport now. The image reflects what 'should be' painted on the taxiway. This area needs to be addressed; as runway incursions will happen again at this location.
