GA SMA ENTERED SVFR CORRIDOR OF LAX TCA AT WRONG ALT. ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT RADIO PROC IN CORRIDOR.
Narrative
I PICKED UP A PAS AT RAMONA; CA AND WITHIN AN HR PROCEEDED NW ON V25 FLT PLAN TO BAKERSFIELD. OFF EL TORO THERE WAS A BIPLANE DOING AEROBATICS AT MY LEVEL; 4500' (THERE WERE 2 GOING SE). I REQUESTED RADAR FLT FOLLOWING FROM 132.7. SINCE I REQUESTED THE SFRA TO GO OVER LAX I WAS NOT HANDED OFF TO ANY APCH CTL FREQ. I MONITORED 122.75 ALSO 132.7. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME OVER THE LAX ARPT SINCE CHANGES HAD BEEN MADE. NORMALLY I WOULD FILE INSTRUMENT TO GO INTO THE SOUTHERN AREA. I BELIEVE WHERE PROB OF CONCERN WAS HDG NW; I DID FIND MYSELF AT 4000' (SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 4500'). SINCE IT WAS A FEW MINS TO DARK W/O KNOWING THE CONCERN IT WOULD CAUSE AT RADAR STATION (USING CODE 1201); I STARTED TO RESET MY ALTIMETER ENCODER TO PROPER ALT TO CLR MOUNTAINS TO THE N OF WHICH OUTLINE WAS IN QUESTION AS WELL TO PREPARE FOR ENRTE TO BAKERSFIELD. I WAS DIRECTED TO CALL TRACON FROM BAKERSFIELD OF WHICH I DID. TO MY ENLIGHTENMENT; I FOUND OUT THE SFRA (122.75) IS NOT EVEN MONITORED BY LAX OF WHICH FOR SOME REASON I THOUGHT IT WAS. NOWHERE AFTER LOOKING ATC CLRNC DID I FIND 122.75 WAS NOT BEING MONITORED IN FLT RULE (PLT TO PLT ONLY). I MONITORED 122.75 ALSO 134.2 BURBANK APCH. AFTER STATING LEAVING LA CORRIDOR; CALLED BURBANK APCH TO PROCEED N; STILL LISTENING TO 122.75). TWO THINGS I CERTAINLY LEARNED. 122.75 WAS NOT MONITORED OF WHICH IN MY VIEW SHOULD BE. 'THERE IS NO CONTROL (SAFETY) WHERE THERE IS NO COM.' FROM 3000-5000' 134.9 SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED OVER LAX ARPT AS WELL AS THE SHORELINE AND THE HOLLYWOOD PARK ROUTE. OVER THE LAX ARPT IS TOO SERIOUS OF A PROB JUST TO LEAVE IT TO PLTS ALONE. ALSO; I NEED TO KNOW WHO IS BESIDE ME AT THE EXTREME (NW/SE) END OF A CONVERGING POINT. OTHERWISE; I CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE MONITORED 134.9 AS WELL AS 122.75.
