What happened

During the initial climb phase following departure from Merauke-Mopah Airport, the aircraft struck trees while ascending. The impact caused the plane to crash into a wooded region, where it subsequently caught fire.

Out of the ten people on board, there were nine fatalities and one survivor. The sole crew member who survived the crash was successfully rescued from the wreckage.

Findings

The accident occurred as the aircraft was navigating through low-altitude terrain immediately after takeoff. The primary factor in the destruction of the aircraft was the collision with trees during the climb.

Probable cause

The aircraft struck trees during its initial ascent from the airport.
