What happened
A navigation training mission conducted over the Celtic Sea resulted in a fatal accident involving a twin engine aircraft. The flight originated from RAF Hullavington and was manned by a total of ten individuals, consisting of four pilots and six student-pilots.
During the course of the flight, the aircraft became uncontrollable. The descent ended in a crash located several miles away from the Hartland Point Lighthouse. There were no survivors of the impact, with a total of ten fatalities recorded among the crew members.
