Narrative
On Date; Captain Name and I were operating Aircraft X from ZZZ1 to ZZZ. The Captain was flying this leg for us and it was the first flight of the day. Making our down the coastline to ZZZ we encountered thunderstorms and after maneuvering around them we had a Yellow Right Windshield Heat Caution Message appear. Captain then called for the QRC and discovered that the Message was not on the card so he called for the QRH. Next; he transferred controls and radios to me and performed the procedures in the QRH. This called for the Right Windshield to be Turned Off and Reset. This was done and the Message Cleared. Then both the Captain and I were looking over the Window and suddenly saw a Spark coming from what appeared to be a Crack working it's way down the Window.Once we realized we had a Cracked Window we contacted ATC and requested lower attitudes. We informed them of the Cracked Window and They asked if we were requesting priority handling; which we did. During this time Captain let the Flight Attendant know what was going on as we made our way straight to ZZZ. We were unable to notify Dispatch of the situation because we were experiencing an ACARS NO COMMS during this time. We processed straight to ZZZ and landed without incident. After we landed Tower asks us to give them a call after we parked. We did and let them know we had a Cracked Window.
