Synopsis

Air carrier First Officer reported receiving a brake overheat annunciation during departure climb. The indication was high enough to warrant a return to the origin airport.

Narrative

Flight from ZZZ to ZZZ1; every thing was normal. We finished all our check list and where cleared for take off; soon as we took off we got a warning message. We continued the climb to 8000 feet and keep our speed at 200 knots; once's we leveled off; I was the flying pilot and had the aircraft and the radios. The pilot monitoring proceed on to the QRC which lead us into the QRH. Break temp on number 3 brake stayed at 20 and wasn't decreasing. The QRH said land at the nears suitable airport also suspect a fire. We turned around back to ZZZ. Once's QRH was finessed and after a discussion with the First Officer (FO) we [requested priority]. We messaged Maintenance as well as Dispatch; at this point the break temperature went from 20 to amber dashes and it continued; back and forth. At this time we where pretty sure it's a sensor issue; we notified the Flight Attendant and did our test items and told them we do not plan to evacuate if so it will be over the PA system. Upon landing the fire trucks gave us to the okay to taxi to the gate. Upon getting to the gate Maintenance was already present came on the aircraft and confirmed.
