Synopsis

CRJ-900 pilot reported bleed air system malfunction and loss of cabin pressurization during cruise climb. Flight diverted and landed normally.

Narrative

Operating as Captain from ZZZ to ZZZ1 (First Officer was flying). While cleared to climb from FL290 to FL330; upon departing F290 with Cowl Heat 'ON' due to impending IMC with TAT warmer than -40C; an EICAS Warning of (L) Bleed Duct was enunciated. Upon completion of EPC (Electrical Power Center) Execution and proceeding to the QRH; all bleed sources closed by system protocol; resulting in a complete loss of all pressurization. Immediately thereafter the cabin altitude quickly reached 10000FT resulting in an EICAS Cabin Alt Warning. After the completion of the additional EPC (Electrical Power Center) event (utilizing Crew Oxygen) during the emergency decent to an altitude of below 10000FT; the cabin progressively reached an altitude of 14000FT with CPAM (Cabin Pressure Acquisition Module) deploying passenger oxygen on schedule; confirmed by the PAX OX (Passenger Oxygen) Caution Indication. Simultaneously during these back-to-back events; an [we requested priority handling] with the immediate decision made to divert to ZZZ2. Upon arrival to ZZZ2 a normal approach and landing was achieved without incident; followed by normal passenger egress and company notification.Suggestions: A thorough review of aircraft MX (maintenance) history (contained in the aircraft can) when accepting an aircraft for a given flight; may" potentially assist in alerting a crew of a potential system issue (with a historical past) waiting to resurface such as this."
